The Museum of Cretan Ethnology would also like to present a classification of Cretan pottery in purely geometrical terms. This is so that each ceramic object can be classified in internationally accept

ed terms. This classification is different from archaeological or other types which use conventional terms (ovoid, piriform etc.) or local names of vessels with a wide geographical distribution.
