The Cretan Lyra

The boat is made of kelebeki and the lid of tar.
The total length of the instrument is 54 cm.
The length of the boat is 28.5 cm and its width is 21.3 cm.
The diameter of the eye is 2.6 cm and the stem between the two eyes is 4.5 cm long.
The depth of the speaker is 5.9 cm.
The width of the head is 2.9 cm and the width of the screw is 4.6 cm.
The vessel has an incised decoration on the reverse, representing a partridge or an eagle.

The boat and stringer are made of mulberry wood, the lid of cypress and the rider of cherry.
The total length of the instrument is 54.5 cm and its scale is 28.5 cm.
The width of the lid is 20.5cm. and the depth of the speaker 5 cm.
The fingerboard is 26.5 cm long and its width varies between 6 cm – 4 cm.

The boat and rider are made of cherry wood, the cap of cypress and the fretboard of ebony.
The total length of the instrument is 56 cm and its scale is 28 cm.
The width of the lid is 21.5cm. and the depth of the speaker 5 cm.
The fingerboard is 27 cm long and its width varies between 6 cm – 4 cm.
A dark varnish has been applied to the instrument.
On the back side of the vessel is an engraved jewel in the form of a tree.

This is the first lyre made by the instrument maker.
The vessel and tongue of the instrument are made of African Abura wood, the lid of spruce and the string of Iroko wood.
The total length of the instrument is 54.5 cm.
The width of the lid is 22 cm and the depth of the speaker is 5 cm.
The fingerboard is 27.2 cm long and its width varies between 5.5 cm-4 cm.
The string is 7.5 cm long.

The lid is made of tar, the boat of light mulberry wood and the head of light and black mulberry.
The fingerboard and fretboards are made of rosewood and are decorated with flowers and triangles respectively.
The overall length of the instrument is 57.5 cm and the width of the board is 19.3 cm. The depth of the speaker is 4 cm.
The diameter of the eye is 2.7 cm and the length of the stem is 4.4 cm.
The fingerboard is 5.3 cm wide (bottom) and 4.4 cm wide (top).
The head has a length of 6.1 cm (bottom) – 12.7 cm (top) and a width of 7.2 cm (bottom) – 4.9 cm (top).
The instrument has a decorative floral pattern on the back as well.

The lid is made from cypress over 30 years old and the boat from mulberry wood.
The head has an incised decoration with facing dolphins.
The fingerboard is made of tar and has acetopaste decoration.
The upper and lower rider are made of walnut.
The string – which is engraved and imitates a flower – as well as the soul, are made of mulberry wood.
The overall length of the instrument is 51.4 cm and the width of the board is 16 cm. The depth of the speaker is 4.6 cm.
The diameter of the eye is 2.3 cm and the length of the stem is 3 cm.
The fingerboard is 16.1 cm long and its width is 4.5 cm (bottom) and 3.8 cm (top). The upper bridge is 5.6 cm wide and the lower bridge is 4.2 cm wide, while the scale of the instrument is 28 cm.
The width of the head varies between 7 cm. (bottom) – 5.2 cm. (top). The strings are metal.
